A specialist agricultural and rural business mortgage consultancy has appointed an experienced local agricultural banker to deliver finance solutions to farms and rural businesses in the Midlands.

Experienced farm and rural finance professional, Paul Simon, is joining Rural and Business Specialists Ltd (R&BS). Paul is a well-known figure amongst farmers and rural professionals in the Midlands, having spent the last 16 years working as an agricultural relationship manager for Lloyds Bank working from Uttoxeter.

With a banking career that spans nearly 40 years, Paul has worked closely with many farms, rural and commercial businesses. This expertise carries across perfectly to his new role, where he will provide farm and rural clients with strategic funding advice, structure lending applications and negotiate with multiple lenders for any business investments – such as land purchase, new buildings, diversification projects and finance restructuring.

Commenting on his new role, Paul said: “Farming isn’t just a business – it’s a whole way of life, for often more than one family generation. That’s why obtaining the best, flexible loan facilities and terms to enable the business to adapt, grow and achieve both business and lifestyle goals is so important. But that often can’t be achieved by sticking with your one existing bank or lender.”

“R&BS have a strong reputation for delivering successful lending outcomes. Their practice of giving their clients the best choice of lending options from many different lenders across the finance marketplace is something I strongly believe in.

“Banks and lenders are open for business but obtaining finance can be challenging and time consuming – and is getting harder as banks tighten their policies and interest rates increase. I am looking forward to helping my clients navigate this mortgage minefield, to grow their businesses and achieve their lifestyle goals.”

Paul will be working with the local farming community including farms, estates, equestrian businesses, and other rural land-based businesses, as well as rural professional advisors including land agents, consultants, accountants and solicitors.

He welcomes contact from old and new clients and professional contacts and can be reached 07763 225490 or email  paul@randbs.co.uk
