The FarmersAid new mobile app took centre stage at this year’s Cereals event – with help from the Hawkstone Farmers Choir.

The show provided a valuable platform for RABI to introduce FarmersAid to new audiences, including young farmers who were welcomed through breakfast sessions, a careers luncheon and seminars hosted by NFYFC & Oxford Young Farmers.

Future farming, skills and career development were among the topics discussed and FarmersAid complemented wider conversations about preparedness, safety and supporting farming people across the sector.

RABI welcomed the opportunity to engage with visitors throughout the event, with many taking time to learn more about FarmersAid, join conversations at the stand, connect through social media and stay engaged with FarmersAid after the event.

Visitors took part in a tourniquet challenge – an activity was designed to test decision-making and correct placement under pressure, reflecting the realities of responding to serious on-farm incidents and bringing to life the practical support that the FarmersAid app is designed to provide.

The RABI first response wheel also attracted strong participation, helping visitors build confidence in responding to a range of serious on-farm emergencies. The Plinko prize draw formed part of the first response activities, giving participants the chance to win prizes while engaging with important safety messages.

The Hawkstone Choir, winners of Britain’s Got Talent, brought plenty of energy and enthusiasm to the event, helping raise awareness of the FarmersAid app and encouraging conversations about the importance of being prepared to respond to serious on-farm incidents.
