Industry leaders and experts will discuss ways to manage shocks within the agri-food supply chain this autumn.
Taking place in Peterborough on 16 November, this year’s AIC Agribusiness Conference will bring together agricultural stakeholders for a day of insight, networking and discussion at the Holiday Inn hotel, west Peterborough.
The return to an in-person conference format is an opportunity for delegates to meet face-to-face after three years. An online-only option is available for stakeholders unable to attend in person.
The conference will be chaired by journalist and BBC Radio 4’s Farming Today presenter Anna Hill. It will feature speakers from business, science and political backgrounds, sparking thought and debate throughout the day.
Alongside politics, industry will be strongly represented by NFU deputy president Tom Bradshaw. He farms combinable crops across some 950ha on contracted land and the home farm at Fordham, north of Colchester.
HSBC head of agri-foods Allan Wilkinson will also be speaking. Having held his current role for seven years, Mr Wilkinson sits on numerous industry bodies – including the Food & Drink Sector Council’s export forum.
Addington Fund chief executive Bill Young will be the keynote speaker at the pre-conference supper. The fund provides housing and disaster relief in the form of animal feed or services to farmers in need across England and Wales.
