Farmers had the opportunity to test-drive three John Deere combines ready for next season at an “arrive and drive” Demo Day near Great Dunmow in Essex.
The T560, T670 and S785 were all put through their paces across the 80-acre wheat field by customers of John Deere dealer Tuckwells, who travelled from Kent, Bedfordshire and closer to home in Essex.
Demonstrator manager Sam Body said: “We were really pleased to welcome customers over to Essex from across the south-east and East Anglia.
Great opportunity
“Having all the combines operating together gives a great opportunity for customers to drive them and compare options across the range. One customer from Bedfordshire came along to drive the T560 and T670 ahead of a longer trial of the T670 on site at their farm.”
The T-Series combine offers the largest separation area of any walker combine on the market. It has a specially configured multi-drum threshing and separating system to deliver top straw quality and exceptional performance for a compact combine.
Meanwhile, the John Deere S-Series combine can harvest 75 tonnes per hour with less than 1% broken grain. The company says it has more global sales than any other model. The S785 has 579hp and features the new John Deere tracks offering a 30% bigger footprint.
All models are equipped with the latest generation precision agricultural technology – the John Deere Operations Center. This allows remote monitoring, advance work planning and improved harvest efficiency to support better decision making and improved profitability.
Working farm
Tuckwells is one of the UK’s largest and longest established John Deere dealers. It employs more than 290 staff across Suffolk, Essex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
In addition, the company operates Tuckwell Farms, a 600ha (1500 acres) working farm focused on trialling equipment and technology as well championing farming through biology and sustainable methods.
